Overview:
We have an opportunity for an innovative Civil Engineer to join the Bancon Homes team to support both the private and affordable homes business streams.
You will be responsible for the development of designs, delivery of planning information, technical approvals, liaison with specialists, and ongoing queries throughout construction culminating in adoption and vesting of assets.
A focus of the role will be the preparation of engineering information and solutions for cost effective development for housing projects, to ensure that effective and realistic bids can be made for land.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce technical information required for planning submission, roads construction consent, sewer technical approval, tenders and construction in accordance with the dates set in the project programmes.
* Provide input at early stage planning design from a technical perspective. This will include assessing abnormal development costs impacting the development.
* Production of assessments of development details to allow a fully costed abnormals package to be developed. Where required be involved in negotiations with landowners and agents on abnormals relating to the proposed development.
* Liaise with all relevant external consultants.
* Engage with utility providers to review capacities.
* Interpret site investigation reports to develop earthworks strategy for sites.
* Develop full plot design with corresponding 3D model.
* Respond to site queries as required by the site team and ensure all information is available to allow projects to progress as per programme. Attend site meeting on request from managers.
Requirements:
* You should be qualified to HNC level (or similar level) in Civil Engineering and have demonstrable relevant post qualification experience.
* It is preferable but not essential to have housing development experience either through consultancy or direct work with developers.
* Membership of a professional body to a minimum of Technician level is preferable with a forward plan to achieve Incorporated level.
