Job Title: Design Manager
Location: Hybrid, Walsall based with travel
Salary: to £65k Plus Company car/Allowance and benefits
A fantastic new opportunity for a Design Manager to lead our team of Mechanical/Electrical Engineers running our biggest water projects. You'll be based from our hub in Walsall but have a remit that covers the UK, working on projects for our biggest customers in the water industry. The projects range from £250k to £5m plus so you'll be used to leading teams of engineers and working with varied clients and project managers.

What's the role:
* Ensuring technical resources are managed effectively by working with the Senior Management Team and regional Frameworks Managers to co-ordinate design resource
* Leading our in-house design and engineering team to ensure an effective and efficient systems engineering approach
* Interfacing with external engineering consultants to delegate work packages that support in-house activities
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising planners, designers, engineers, direct delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors
What you'll need:
* To be a passionate Design Manager with experience ideally in the Water Process environment, who has a practical and proven understanding of Design solution development and implementation
* To be degree qualified in engineering and be able to display a sound understanding of relevant technologies and legislation. Desirable qualifications include BEng / MEng in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Process Engineering
* To have experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
* To have good commercial awareness with developing influencing and negotiating skills, as well as an aptitude to develop relationships with clients and end users
* A full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role as and when required
