Job Title: Civil Works Project Manager Company: Sacyr UK and Ireland Location: New Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff, Wales As a Civil Works Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference The role of the Civil Works Project Manager is to manage different parts of construction projects, supervising crew members, preparing estimates for time and material costs, completing quality assurance, observing health and safety standards and ensuring these are upheld, and compiling reports for different stakeholders. The project involves the design, construction, finance, and 25 years operation of the New Velindre Cancer Centre which will be situated on a greenfield site, owned by the Trust, at Whitchurch, North Cardiff. The project is being procured through the Welsh Government's Mutual Investment Model ("MIM") which is a specific model for procuring public private partnerships in Wales. Key Responsibilities include: Support the ProjectCo General Manager and Construction Director Work with Trust, stakeholders and local community Work with design team, construction team and hard FM team Work with ProjectCo specialists and experts through construction Oversight of program for design, construction, and commissioning activity for the works, ensuring quality of work and a safe site. Responsible for assisting the Construction Director in the execution of all tasks directly related to project monitoring and construction execution related with his area of knowledge. All Technical disciplines’ design monitoring Construction monitoring Monitor the progress of the works against the construction programme Manage key information requirements within the Project Agreement/contract documents Requirements: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent AND: 5 years experience in a similar role including Healthcare, buildings and or technical construction experience OR 10 years’ experience in a similar role including Healthcare experience. In Additional: Enthusiastic and able to work in a small team with ProjectCo General Manager and Construction Director Health building and/or technical construction experience Work with and overseeing the Construction team Good organisational skills and attitude to embrace, create, promote and maintain work procedures. Cardiff based or local to Cardiff Ability to implement a community benefits programme and manage the project website Contribute to the successful delivery of the new Velindre Cancer Centre Keen to work in a multicultural team Welsh speaker (desirable), for local community interaction and translation work.
