Seeking someone with risk experience, preferably in the financial services, banking, or investment management sector, to work in our Group Risk Management team at SJP, covering a 12-month leave for a birthing parent.
You'll join the Risk Framework and Technology team and play a vital role in leading Risk Business Partnering activities for the Technology & Change division in line with our risk management framework to improve risk awareness and culture.
What you’ll be doing:
* Providing advice to business areas to help them understand their risk management responsibilities and how to use the tools available in the risk management framework.
* Providing appropriate oversight and robust challenge to Risk Owners, Control Owners and Managers on the effectiveness of the risk management and internal controls in their area of responsibility (including their adherence to the Board risk appetite).
* Ensuring risks are effectively managed within the Group’s appetite, escalating risk events and issues where they arise.
* Facilitating the completion of the annual risk and controls self-assessments and year-end attestation process, which will include some validation and/or testing of controls to provide assurance of accuracy.
* Involvement in operational risk capital scenarios assessments and documentation relating to Technology and Business Change.
* Supporting third party related risk activities.
Who we’re looking for:
* An excellent understanding of risk management processes and controls, and previous experience in a risk, audit or compliance-based role.
* Experience from within financial services/banking preferred.
* Ability to communicate technical subjects in a concise and clear manner to a wide audience.
* Experience of overseeing or working in a Technology and Business Change function where the role had a focus on risk and controls would be preferable.
* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and influence effectively.
