Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Practitioner will work within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) setting to provide a specialised/occupational mental health service for all service and entitled personnel within the Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) and network as required.
The post holder will have experience of working in adult community mental healthcare, as well as robust clinical assessment skills and an understanding of the occupational role and needs of individuals presenting to the service.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Providing a timely and high-quality mental health service to all patients referred to the Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) for assessment and treatment of mental health presentations.
* Acting as a clinical resource and liaising with Medical Officers/General Practitioners (MO/GP) and offering advice to the chain of command on mental health matters.
* Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions for common mental disorders, individually, in groups, and via face-to-face and digital platforms.
* Providing psychological assessments and interventions to individuals and groups.
* Ensuring clinical outcome data is routinely entered and appropriately collated, as well as engaging in service evaluation, outcome measurement, audit, and research projects to benefit service users.

Person Specification
Registrations and Memberships
* Registered with one of the following regulatory bodies: NMC, HCPC.
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
Experience
* Registered Mental Health Nurse or graduate-level professional with a background in mental health; substantial post-qualification training and experience in at least 2 evidence-based psychological therapies, and accredited or eligible for accreditation from a recognised body (BABCP, BACP, UKCP) OR Registered Mental Health Nurse with demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above. Experience of working in a Community Mental Health setting. Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended psychological interventions OR must possess a Postgraduate/Graduate certificate in evidence-based psychological treatments with demonstrable experience in a community mental health role.
