Health and Safety Manager - Construction
Location: Walsall
Salary: From £45,000 per annum
Type: Full Time, Permanent
The main purpose of the Health & Safety Manager is to act as the lead person for health and safety as defined by the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
A key focus of this role is to develop, implement and maintain health and safety best practice across the business at all locations, including external site projects, ensuring the business and employees comply with all current health and safety legislation.
The Health & Safety Manager will proactively work with colleagues on sites and at business locations to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health and safety that also promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and update general area risk assessments and H&S Codes
2. Assist members of staff in the completion of, or review of, risk assessments
3. Lead internal reviews, audits, reviews of management systems and risk assessments
4. Monitor the implementation of improvement plans
Travel Requirement:
The role will require travel across the UK to project sites.
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be:
1. NEBOSH (General/Construction Certificate) – essential
2. Project Management – essential
3. Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) – essential
4. CSCS Card (Black) - Desirable
