Description
We are seeking a pivotal Finance leader to join our Finance Team and drive excellence in our financial management. In this key role, you will oversee all aspects of LLDC's financial strategy, including long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, funding, borrowings, cost management, tax strategy, and statutory reporting. You will also chair the LLDC Change Board and lead the finance function, ensuring high performance and effective delivery of financial services, while maintaining a robust financial control environment.
Your responsibilities will include managing procurement and contracting for LLDC's external supply needs in compliance with regulations. You will support the Chief Operating Officer and, with colleagues in Governance, manage the Audit Committee's business, and work with the Chair to set agendas. Collaborating with LLDC's sponsor body, the Greater London Authority (GLA), you will establish transparent and effective processes for communicating LLDC's financial position.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing finance and procurement function as part of the broader Corporate Services directorate, which plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation to deliver its goals. It does this by providing strong, robust governance and the infrastructure necessary to support the organisation's other teams, through provision of IT, accounting and finance, commercial advice, programme and performance management, Freedom of Information procedures and much more.
Is it for you?
We are seeking a CCAB-qualified accountant with a strong track record of building and leading high-performance finance teams in similar organisations. You should have experience enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of financial systems and controls and developing financial services to meet business needs.
You will be adept at delivering comprehensive financial and commercial information, managing public resources, and mitigating financial risks. Your experience should include preparing statutory accounts and working closely with auditors, board members, and business advisors.
We value personal credibility and a professional demeanor that inspires trust and confidence. You should lead by example, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and the ability to navigate conflicts and make tough decisions. Strong communication and influencing skills, along with high emotional intelligence, are essential for success in this role.
We are looking for someone with a professional CCAB accounting qualification with a proven track record of success in building, developing and motivating a high-performance finance function in a comparable organisation, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of systems and controls and developing the financial service to the business.
You will have experience of procurement, ideally in a public sector context, and able to lead on this with confidence.

* The salary for this post is GBP 117,212 per annum LLDC operates a performance-based incremental pay scale.
* The probationary period for this post is for three months. Upon successful completion of the probation period, confirmation of employment will be given and the notice period will be three months.
* This is proposed as a full-time post working 37 hours per week, although this post will be considered for flexible working
