As part of our ongoing expansion, we seek an ESG Manager to join our team.
Position Summary
The ESG Manager plays a critical role in developing a best-in-class Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. The ESG Manager will work with OrganOx leadership, internal teams, investors, and key partners to foster a culture of social responsibility, integrity, teamwork, and respect throughout the entire value chain.
Major Responsibilities
Under direction from the SVP Operations and with the support of OrganOx’s C Suite, the ESG Manager will:
1. Develop, manage, and lead the ESG strategy for OrganOx globally.
2. Develop a framework and business plan to obtain OrganOx global ESG certifications and accreditations in alignment with the defined ESG strategy.
3. Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to raise awareness and foster a culture of sustainability and collaboration.
4. Work with OrganOx senior leadership, internal teams, investors, and key partners to drive a culture of ESG throughout the entire value chain.
5. Organise and lead workshops, training sessions, and events to educate and engage stakeholders (internal and external) on sustainability issues and best practices.
6. Using benchmark Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), measure and generate customised reporting of ESG performance to internal stakeholders, investors, and key partners.
7. Benchmark OrganOx’s ESG performance in comparison to medical device industry best practice.
8. Conduct both UK and USA sustainability reporting as regulations are implemented.
9. Collaborate with the marketing team to help translate progress against sustainability and social impact initiatives into compelling stories and engagement activities.
10. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, visitors, local communities, charities, and regulatory bodies, to drive engagement and collaboration on sustainability initiatives.
11. Develop and execute compelling sustainability and social value initiatives to improve OrganOx’s ESG performance.
12. Keep abreast of changes to ESG legislation and practices to ensure business procedures and policies remain current.
13. Align ESG activities to support the company’s mission to advance the field of transplantation.
Skills and Experience
1. Minimum 5 years experience in supporting and implementing sustainability programmes with a track record of practical delivery against publicly stated ESG goals in a major organisation or consultancy.
2. Working knowledge of ISO14001.
3. Working knowledge of GHG calculation, SECR, and ESOS.
4. Strong influencing skills and the ability to effectively lead multi-functional committees of internal and external stakeholders.
5. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with internal stakeholders across the company including Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
6. Thorough understanding of ESG best practices in the context of regulated industries.
7. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
8. Computer literate to a high level in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
9. Adaptable in a continuously evolving and fast growth environment.
10. High level of attention to detail.
11. Solution-oriented with developed problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an ESG leadership role (desired).
2. Formal qualification in Sustainability/Environmental/Management/Engineering to Bachelor's (Hons) Degree level or equivalent professional diploma (for example CFI Diploma). A foundational degree or equivalent is appropriate with greater than 10 years’ experience in a relevant leadership role.
