Overview of project/role
The Digital Marketing Manager will develop and deliver the Museum’s online marketing strategy in order to meet LTM's targets for income and visitor participation. The post holder will be responsible for commissioning content for the Museum’s digital channels, including the LTM website, email communication, digital advertising, social media and blogger outreach. The post holder will act as brand guardian for all digital communications ensuring the highest standards of web functionality are achieved at all times.
This role will need to develop relationships with multiple stakeholders across LTM and the wider TfL network, ensuring digital initiatives are considered and progressed for all areas of the business.
Key Accountabilities
1. Take ownership of LTM website, optimising performance and continually developing the website to become a best in class in the cultural and museums sectors. The post-holder will have day-to-day account management with our digital agency.
2. Work closely with counterparts in the Retail and Operations teams to ensure there is a seamless customer experience across the various websites, helping to cross-sell services and products where applicable.
3. Manage LTM’s digital advertising campaigns right the way from research through to implementation and reporting. This will involve working closely with internal and external suppliers to ensure our campaigns are optimised to drive targeted customers to our website and establishing SMART KPIs and targets in order to track performance.
4. Proactively identify and commission new areas of web content through a continuous dialogue with all areas of the Museum, keeping content fresh, relevant and targeted.
5. Creation, management and distribution of LTM’s e-newsletter, helping to implement new segmentation strategies and ensuring compliance with GDPR initiatives.
6. Continuously evaluate and report on digital activity, providing timely feedback to management team and making recommendations for future activity.
7. Support LTM's Videographer in producing and delivering timely video content that falls in line with wider marketing initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Skills
* Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken English)
* Enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated
* Attention to detail and proofreading
* Good general IT skills including ability to use Adobe Suite (including Photoshop and Illustrator)
* Competent in HTML, XML and CSS
* Content creation, editing and management
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task
* Understanding the role of visitor research, social media analytical tools and testing in design and development
* Prioritises and manages time to ensure key deadlines are met and multiple projects are efficiently managed simultaneously.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Marketing and PR communications
* Digital advertising production (Google Ads)
* Proven track record of delivering successful online marketing campaigns
* Experience of using Content Management Systems (Drupal)
* Knowledge of database/CRM marketing
* Experience of using analytical tools (Google Analytics, HotJar)
* Knowledge of GDPR, web accessibility and all other relevant legislation
* Knowledge of current/emerging technologies, trends and best practice in marketing and communications, in order to work closely with external parties to improve the web experience of the Museum.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a similar managerial digital marketing role
* Experience of working in an e-commerce environment
* Collaborative working with colleagues and partners and stakeholders from the commercial and not-for-profit organisations
* Working with external organisations and agencies including suppliers
* Proven track record of delivering results through online marketing campaigns
* Proven experience in content management systems, email marketing, Search Engine Marketing, Google Adwords and Analytics, and co-ordinating the delivery of content, technical development and design to ensure coherent campaigns
* Experience of working in a museum/cultural environment (desirable)
