Salary: FTE Grade 4 Spine Point 17 - £30,542.55. Actual Salary: £5,938.83
Contract Type: 7 hours a week (Wednesday only) 40 weeks per year.
About the Role
The Additional Learning Support (ALS) team are seeking an enthusiastic and committed ALS Lead to join their highly successful team. The key functions of this role are to plan the delivery of outstanding in-class learning support interventions; to ensure the efficient deployment of a large team of Learning Support Assistants and to operationally manage this team in collaboration with the ALS Manager; to support all other ALS functions and to adopt an outward-looking approach to the development of innovative practice. The successful postholder will also have the key responsibility area of coordinating transitions for learners with SEND who require additional visits, tours, taster sessions and meetings, in preparation for coming to college.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Timetable and plan deployment of available staffing and physical resources, maintaining clear and accurate records.
* Coordinate and lead on transition activities for learners with additional needs, including visits, tours and taster sessions as required.
* Offer outstanding learning support using a variety of models and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Provide lead cover according to business need and take on the management of small projects as directed by the ALS Manager / Assistant Principal (SEND).
* Arrange for the timely start of learning support for all identified learners.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding guidelines, seeking input from appropriate safeguarding staff as required.
Requirements
You will need:
* Maths and English to at least level 2
* Educated to at least level 3
* Understanding of factors that create barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these
* Proven track record and experience of effective quality improvement in learning support
* Well-developed ability for problem solving and decision making
* Ability to communicate with external stakeholders and students
