Associate Director of Clinical Services The Kings Oak & Cavell Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £71,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals in Enfield are part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for an Associate Director of Clinical Services to join their team of staff in the Senior Management department. This is a Surgical Services Associate Director Role including POA therefore candidates must be NMC registered, with at least 5 years post registration. This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Lead on all aspects of nursing and clinical service delivery, ensuring care is safe, effective, responsive, and in line with CQC standards and best practice guidelines. Provide visible, professional leadership across clinical areas, fostering a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical strategy, aligning nursing services with wider organisational goals and local population needs. Lead the recruitment, retention, development, and performance management of the nursing and clinical workforce. Promote a strong safety culture by overseeing compliance with infection prevention, medicines management, falls prevention, pressure ulcer management, and patient observations. Manage clinical budgets, ensuring effective use of resources while maintaining care quality. Contribute to business planning, cost improvement initiatives, and procurement decisions. Work closely with the Executive Director, Medical Director, and senior leadership team to align clinical operations with corporate strategy. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration. Significant experience in a senior clinical leadership role within hospital-based services. Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Nursing, Healthcare Leadership, or related field. Strong understanding of clinical governance, regulatory standards (e.g., CQC), and national nursing policy. Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive service improvement in complex healthcare environments. Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Financial and operational acumen, with experience managing budgets and resources.
