Who are we?
First Subsea, based in Lancaster and part of the First Tech Group, has gone through a major transition in the last five years, transitioning from oil and gas projects to offshore renewables projects where we supply a range of bespoke and patented products, such as lifting and recovery tools, and cable protection systems. All our products are designed, assembled and tested in-house and we have recently opened a dedicated manufacturing & production facility for our cable protection systems.
As demand has grown for the products and services provided by First Subsea, the need for talented people has also grown in parallel.

The Role?
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Responsible for improving production throughout the factory, by supporting other departments, drafting safety protocols, reporting improvement suggestions to management, and creating strategies to enhance efficiencies and profits, the successful candidate will hold previous experience within a similar position and hold an HNC in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
* Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas.
* Assist in planning, design, installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment on the shop floor.
* Technical support and troubleshooting of production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls and systems.
* Develop and facilitate training for operational departments such as with operating procedures, safety/environmental protocol, new/revised processes and equipment as necessary.
* Support planning and directing production scheduling and maintenance activities as needed as well as maintaining activities within the company budget structure.
* Responsible for the specification & purchasing of capital equipment and operational equipment for maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Responsible for the design of bespoke jigs, fixtures and handling aids, developing their specification for procurement.
* Lead development and design of equipment and processes to support safety/environmental compliance, customer needs, new product introduction, and efficient manufacturing.
* Make recommendations for and provide technical support of facility capital expenditures in support of site strategy.
* Assist with the shop floor layout/design and developments.
* Generating production documentation such as SOPs as required.
* Responsible for ensuring product and process quality continually meets specifications required, raising any concerns with the Production Engineering Manager as necessary.
* Working knowledge of ISO9001, 45001, and 18001.
* Assist with any other duties as and when required.
Your Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* HNC in Mechanical / Production Engineering
* Previous experience within a similar position, preferably in the PU industry.
* Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks (3D CAD)
* Proficient in the use of AutoCAD inventor
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Working knowledge of pipework, pumps, pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
