We have an exciting roadmap ahead for new products, services, production capacity, and business expansion. As a result of this continued success, we are expanding our teams. We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Engineer, Ecotec Brand based at Campsie or Farlough, Dungannon.

About the Role
1. Leading the development and documentation of design processes for products designed within the company.
2. Responsible for the accuracy and successful delivery of product design projects, for the product definition and design phases, concessions and production permits.
3. Design, prototype, assess and review mechanical components and assemblies.
4. Provide support in product acceptance, testing and validation activities.
5. Prepare and participate in requirements and design review meetings.
6. Undertake analysis of mechanical components, assemblies and systems, as well as manufacturing and assembly processes.
7. Oversee and participate in prototyping activities.
8. Support of the design, manufacturing and shop floor activity when required.
9. Provide technical support for the company's product range across manufacturing, development and procurement.
10. Provide engineering support for material selection during the design and development phase, including the design and development of tests to verify performance.
11. Provide technical assistance to both external and internal customers, joining company representatives at customer sites as and when required.
12. Support the cross-functional team in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
13. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge coupled with ongoing professional development, for the joint benefit of the job holder and the business.
About you
Experience & Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
1. Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering, ideally with design experience in heavy equipment.
2. Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Pro-Engineer and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
3. Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
4. Diligent approach to the design and development process.
5. Experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation and hand calculations for design analysis.
6. A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
7. Creativity and innovative thinking.
8. Experience with Oracle TMS a plus.
9. Good English communication skill, both written and spoken.
10. Good Presentation and interpersonal skills.
Key skills will include
1. A “Can do” attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team.
2. Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
3. Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
4. Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
5. Able to investigate root causes of machinery nonperformance.
6. Can identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product.
Position is based in Campsie/Farlough, N. Ireland. Occasional national and international travel required.
