We’re looking for a Director, Tax to join us in London.
The Director, Tax will advise senior management on relevant tax aspects within the Liberty Global group, with a core aspect of the job being responsible for an international scope, but with focus on the UK corporate central structure and business developments. The Director, Tax will provide support on an adhoc basis for all global tax functions including compliance, financial reporting, GET and indirect tax.
What will you be doing?
1. Managing LG’s consolidated UK tax position, including CFC position, UK International Movement of Capital rules.
2. Develop, evaluate and implement UK tax planning strategies that will help maximize company’s after-tax profit and cash flow from operations. Proactively monitor both the development of international tax rules & LG aggregated business across the broader footprint. Takes a strategic view and recommendation of necessary changes to the group structure and related documentation.
3. Lead and execute tax projects to ensure corporate tax objectives are met effectively and efficiently.
4. Understand tax implications and develop efficient strategy with regards to (UK) financing structure. Managing the (UK) tax aspects around financing and derivative transactions and structures.
5. Managing the optimal number of legal entities and the appropriate intercompany funding structures such as intercompany loan and equity investments. Lead execution of related projects.
6. Manage tax aspects of international projects as assigned, including acquisitions/dispositions/(new) ventures, relevant Due Diligence and structuring aspects & ensure efficient use of external resources.
7. Support and maintain relationship with HMRC. Being able to manage this relationship in the context of current requirements of transparency and shareholders interests.
8. Management/optimization of external tax fees.
9. Contributes to tax awareness/appreciation within the Company, and works with other departments in a “Customer” oriented approach.
