We have an opportunityfor a Senior Pharmacy Technician manager- Dispensary Services to join ourin-patient Pharmacy team primarilybased at Sunderland Royal Hospital, but with flexibility to work across theSouth Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust (STSFT) when required. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated individual who isteam-orientated and shares our passion for improving patient care. You willneed to be an experienced Pharmacy Technician working at Band 5 level with arelevant pharmaceutical qualification and registered with the GeneralPharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You will also need to be well-organised. As Senior PharmacyTechnician you will manage a team of dispensers and work alongside our ClinicalPharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Dispensing Assistants to provideintegrated pharmaceutical care for service users in the Trust to ensure safe,appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines. As part of the Pharmacyteam, you will be required to contribute to the seven-day rota which includesweekends and late-night duty.

Essential
1. Broad experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy, but especially dispensary systems of work at Band 5 or above.
2. Experience of supervising, training and developing other members of the pharmacy team.
3. Experience of working with pharmacy computer stock control systems and other computer software including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

4. Demonstrable ability to analyse and overcome barriers in implementation of change.
5. Demonstrable ability to lead and work as part of a team and to motivate and persuade, with a management style which values the contribution of team members.
6. Demonstrable excellent workload and time-management skills and the ability to prioritise personal and team workload.
7. Knowledge of pharmacy computer stock control systems and other computer software including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
8. A general awareness of NHS strategic documents affecting pharmacy.

10. Ability to mediate/undertake conflict resolution within the Team and also with service users and to manage performance when required.

Qualifications

12. NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and approved underpinning knowledge BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent recognised pharmacy technician qualification.
13. Registered as a pharmacy technician with General Pharmaceutical Council.
14. Recognised Accredited Checking Technician qualification with relevant post-qualification experience working in that role.
15. Evidence of continued professional development complying with the requirements as set out by the General Pharmaceutical Council to maintain registration.

16. Up-to-date training in Good Clinical Practice and understanding of clinical trial requirements.
