This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to join the diabetes and endocrinology admin team to support the collection and submission of data for the Somerset wide service. The successful candidate can base at either Yeovil District Hospital or Musgrove Park Hospital with the expectation to travel between sites to meet the requirements of the post.
This role is initially for 12 months with the view to extend; secondments will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for accurate collection and submission of data onto national databases with local breakdown to internal and external organisations. Reporting to the key members of the stroke team, the post holder is responsible for gathering data, preparing and presenting data in the most appropriate format, and providing analytical support for all project benefits, KPIs and metrics to enhance patient care and experience.
To have effective working relationships with clinical staff (of all grades and disciplines), informatics staff, clinical coders, and others to minimise all delays in reporting and ensure efficient data collection and reporting methods.
To identify any areas of improvement regarding efficiency or improved patient outcomes and disseminate these with staff in a timely manner.
To actively report in the Medical Governance Meetings and lead on the Diabetes and Endocrinology Dashboards/Information, with implications for patient care outcomes.
To work in a self-managed way, working within Trust policies and protocols.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educational qualification in Maths & English to GCSE 4 or above or equivalent
* BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND)
* Vocational, NVQ level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent experience or willing to complete within agreed time scale.
Experience
* Experience of monitoring data & information on performance
* Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Experience of use of Health Care Sector Systems and data input and analysis
