Role Responsibilities:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of students, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance to succeed. Responsibilities include:
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and managing student behaviour.
Working one-on-one with students who require additional support, adapting learning materials to meet their needs.
Encouraging students’ engagement and participation in lessons, helping them to build confidence and independence.
Supporting pupils with special educational needs, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to teaching staff.
Collaborating with colleagues and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant:
A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable.
Understanding of the special educational needs (SEN) framework.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A compassionate approach and the ability to motivate and support students effectively.
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, may be advantageous.
