The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day activity across the JD Sports YouTube channel. To proactively and efficiently manage content across the channel from concept through to execution and delivery. You will have a main focus on channel elevation ensuring growth in terms of community & channel awareness.
You will manage the backend of the channel including content uploads & scheduling, tagging, metadata and SEO as well as building and managing the community across both channels. Reporting into the channel manager and working alongside our creative partners, you will support in keeping the channel active, engaging and trending.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the channel's content schedule.
* Manage the full production process from ideation through to execution and delivery ensuring projects run on time and meet deadlines.
* Support in the delivery of graphical elements such as thumbnails and end frames.
* Manage the rollout process within the wider JD Sports team.
* Work with the channel lead to build out a channel growth strategy.
* Work with the channel executive to build and consistently grow the channel's community and awareness.
* Work with productions to create elevated cutdowns for social.
* Ideate social & short form concepts that are organic to talent and tap into trends.
* Manage the upload and scheduling of the content including titles, descriptions, metadata, hashtags and subtitles.
* Contribute towards driving the channel towards key KPIs through community building & trends.
* Support on any YouTube driven talent briefs, including working with agency and/or talent on concepting; sourcing relevant YouTube talent; budgeting; contracting; managing conversations and content; and updating internal and external stakeholders.
* Report on YouTube channel activity.
* Maintain strong relationships with our key creative partners.
* Identify channel trends and new/upcoming talent.
* Build an on-channel community that puts JD at the forefront of Urban Youth.
* Attend shoot days where required.
Skills and Experience:
* A strong knowledge of YouTube as a content platform including experience in content management and writing metadata and SEO.
* Experience in managing production processes is essential.
* A strong understanding of YouTube content, trends & storytelling.
* A strong understanding of the Urban Youth space across YouTube & content creators.
* Track record of managing successful YouTube channels.
* Prior experience, min. 2 years, working in a content-driven environment with a history of YouTube.
* In-depth knowledge of the back end of YouTube is essential.
* Experience in YouTube/social strategies and how to captivate audiences through content and storytelling.
* Strong understanding of reporting and awareness of / experience in actioning the latest social trends.
* Project management skills: organized and able to manage multiple projects at one time.
* Strong communication skills: able to give direction and to liaise closely across different levels of the organization.
* Experience directly managing individuals is preferred.
Training needs to upskill:
* Training on JD’s Influencer platform at time of employment.
* Direct management of YouTube campaigns (small - large scale) including attending shoots, managing budgets, etc.
* Any management training / courses that may upskill the skill set.
* Understanding of reporting within the industry and using these to benefit JD’s reporting and wider strategy.
* Opportunity to present back to key senior stakeholders (in wider teams).
* Direct management of the team and driving their development.
* Direct support on developing the wider YouTube Channel and Talent strategy.
* Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as well as supporting social channels and new and upcoming platforms.
* Use of tools including Excel, Google Analytics, and other influencer reporting platforms.
