Business Development Manager - Energy We've identified the Energy sector as one of our major growth opportunities in the short, medium and long term. We are well established in the sector, with 30 Consultants across our Sales teams, including significant headcount investment in the last 18 months. We have teams based in Whiteley and London. We operate across the Renewables, Transmission & Distribution, Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Data Centres markets. We're seeing huge growth with existing and potential clients, particularly within the Offshore Wind and Transmission & Distribution areas. We have a healthy mix of experienced Consultants and those in the early days of their recruitment career. The culture has developed to become a proactive, fun and professional environment, with excitement about the market opportunities and a determination to capitalise on these. Responsibilities: Core role activities will revolve around detecting, qualifying and winning business, in line with the divisions core capability and expertise. The successful applicant will; Build an understanding of the division’s delivery capabilities and the full product suite that you will be selling. Engage client stakeholders via a variety of communication mediums and tactics to progress opportunities and develop new supplier relationships. Seek commitment for and facilitate face to face and remote meetings. Scope recruitment opportunities with new clients. Secure new recruitment supplier opportunities and exclusive packages of work. Take responsibility for building and consistently driving a personal brand profile via Linked In. Build collaborative internal relations within Matchtech and the wider Gattaca group. Track UK and international news and opportunities. Build/add to network connections and use that network to facilitate future opportunities – a focus on programme and engineering managers and procurement communities. Visit our London office once a month to engage with the energy renewables team over current and future target opportunities. Track all business development activity and proactively manage opportunity pipeline. Play an active role in the Gattaca strategic sales community – sharing best practice and supporting and learning from the other Business Development Consultants/Managers Skills, Competencies and Experiences: Recruitment Sector experience – we don’t need applicants to be energy market experts, but applicants will be required to have previous recruitment experience. Relationship development skills – the ability to build and nurture trusted client relationships is a critical competency for the role. As is the capability to translate strong relationships into project wins. Investigative behaviours – the Energy team will help create the initial client pathways, but a strong desire and ability to detect, identify, or uncover will be essential in pinpointing where opportunities exist. Patience – The sales cycle can take time, and we recognise this. The ideal applicant will be driven and motivated but also with the ability to balance their sales energy with a pragmatic and patient approach to converting their pipeline. Collaborator – Both internally within Gattaca and externally with clients you will need to adopt a partnership approach to your relationship building and sales methodology.
