MECHANICAL COST ESTIMATOR The client, a rapidly growing SME Mechanical Engineering specialist, is seeking a Cost Estimator to work across 2 areas of the business. You will be working on both reactive & PPM Mechanical & Electrical projects, predominately within the public sector including schools, hospitals, social housing & prisons. Key Responsibilities: Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame Assessing the risk levels associated with a project Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs Key Skillset: The Estimator should have a background in Mechanical, Electrical or ICA equipment and services Experience working with Local Authority/Central Government contracts The Estimator will have the ability to evaluate proposals from the supply chain for MEICA equipment including scope of supply, technical compliance, and commercial offer. The Estimator will have good communication skills The Estimator will be computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages. The Estimator will be able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently. Exceptional organisational skills. Must be able to plan and prioritise workload effectively. Excellent client service focus with flexible approach to work. Proactive in approach to work Full UK driving licence
