We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school located in Preston. This role involves working in an SEND class, supporting six children alongside another Teaching Assistant and a full-time teacher. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for specialist education and a commitment to helping children with special educational needs.
- Provide targeted support within an SEND class, assisting in the educational and social development of six children under the guidance of the lead teacher.
- Work collaboratively with another Teaching Assistant and the class teacher to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of activities that cater to the specific needs of each child in the class.
- Monitor and support the children's progress, adapting techniques to suit individual needs.
- Engage with children to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Assist with the general well-being and pastoral care of the children in the SEND class.
- Proven experience working with SEN children, particularly in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special educational needs and the strategies to address these.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A patient, caring, and professional demeanour.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Special Needs Education, or a related field are highly desirable.

This role is a temporary position starting after the Easter break and running at least until the summer, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
