We are currently looking for a Site Manager to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. This role will be focusing on Planned Works.
As Site Manager, you are responsible for providing an excellent service that is safe, effective, and efficient in the delivery of a variety of projects and programs across our varying contracts and ensuring that all works are delivered to the high-quality standards that our clients expect from us in an efficient and VFM manner.
As well as this, you will be acting as the company’s representation to our clients and their residents, providing effective and efficient communication between the client, residents, and our internal project teams.
The Site Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between Cardo and its clients by being open, honest, and transparent.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Supervise and manage onsite projects.
2. Work closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure the project is finished within the allotted budget and timeframe.
3. Ensure that all work is completed in line with the programme of works while observing the highest standards of health & safety.
4. Work with and adhere to Building Control regulations and all other statutory and mandatory regulations/legislation.
5. Work to drawings and specifications.
6. Attend both internal and client meetings, representing the business in a professional manner.
7. Generate, review, and achieve programme performance.
8. Be organized and proficient in the use of various ICT systems, regulations, and legislation related to the building/construction industry.
9. Adapt and have a willing attitude to work on other departmental work streams for the purpose of team playing and cross-covering.
10. Involve residents in the overall process and ensure they are aware of current situations.
11. Develop effective working relationships with residents, direct labour operatives, sub-contractors, clients, building control, and the local fire authority.
12. Act as the representative and be the face of Cardo Group.
13. Support customer liaison officers with resident consultation/engagement and assist the project team in pre-consultation and update meetings.
14. Encourage positive relationships between the company and the residents, ensuring actions are followed up.
15. Ensure works are installed to PAS2030/MCS requirements.
16. Provide clear and concise communication on progress and activity in both technical and simple terms.
17. Convey accurate information to residents and from residents to the project team.
18. Take ownership and deal with customer/resident complaints through to completion and share lessons learned with the project team and senior management team.
19. Exhibit strong negotiation skills and deliver points in a professional manner while treating others with respect.
20. Update systems to ensure that all documents relating to your role are saved and ready for auditing in strict accordance with Cardo procedures.
21. Control project execution plans and deliver structured updates to the client.
22. Manage, review, and monitor risk, program, plant, quality, and cost.
23. Promote and follow good project governance through the policies and procedures laid out by the Cardo Group.
Skills & Experience
1. A minimum of 5 years previous site management experience.
2. Sound knowledge of the social housing sector, including planned works programmes and maintenance projects.
3. Sound knowledge of the construction industry.
4. Experience of working in multiple refurbishment project settings/projects.
5. Sound knowledge of section 20 leaseholder consultation and housing legislation.
6. Experience of multiple communication between supply chain partners, clients, residents, and internal staff.
7. Experience of delivering successful outcomes to complaints.
Qualifications
1. A valid SMSTS qualification.
2. CSCS card in site management.
3. NVQ level 6 in site management/construction.
4. A recognised building/trade qualification.
5. Asbestos Awareness Certification.
6. Must hold a current valid driving license.
7. Recognised qualifications and/or work experience regarding Fire Assessment surveying and remedial works.
