About Caterpillar Defense Caterpillar Defense at Shrewsbury is responsible for the design, development and integration of engine and drivetrain packages to meet the needs of tracked and wheeled military products globally. The facility also provides remanufacturing services of industrial military engines, The Opportunity As a Maintenance & Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for providing the most appropriate Plant Engineering services to support manufacturing. Included in these duties are design, construction, electrical/electronic, systems integration, maintenance, site services, chemical management, site security and other services needed to support the operation. What You Will Do Direct a staff capable of providing needed services and utilizes appropriate expertise to assign work. Consider manpower requirements for each project and utilizes proper engineering resources to provide service. Provide guidance and support to staff personnel assigned specific portions of project and coordinate project to ensure completion as scheduled. Resolve problems in designing the most economical and efficient systems deciding what or which equipment should be purchased. Keep up to date on technical advances in the design field. Act as a troubleshooter and investigate and determine causes for failure, lack of efficiency and need for repairing or improving equipment. Analyze problems, discus with other technical personnel and determine most cost effective method to resolve problem. Assigns work according to expertise and follows projects to ensure satisfactory completion. Ensure proper selection, direction, development and motivation of all personnel to maintain an effective and efficient work force capable of meeting objectives. Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, hazardous materials, ergonomics, affirmative action, etc. in performing assigned duties. What You Have: Supervisory: experience within a maintenance, facilities and/or manufacturing environment, with an overall knowledge of manufacturing operations, processes, machines, equipment and systems Project management: skills with the ability to deliver on time and on plan. Process orientation: use of process to provide structure and repeatable results, demonstrated track record of continuous improvement Budgeting: Knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget. Level Working Knowledge: Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement. Level Working Knowledge: Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Level Working Knowledge: Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance. Level Working Knowledge: Plant Facilities Management: Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure. Level Working Knowledge: Top Candidates will also have Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver on time and on plan. A qualification in Engineering, Business or similar discipline or a relevant qualification to Maintenance / Facilities Management Understanding of relevant regulations Knowledge of the Agility process-based management system Additional Info : This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our Shrewsbury facility, with remote work for the remaining days.
