Purpose Ensure the effective daily planning of orders to meet customer requirements, ensuring product availability and maximising distribution efficiencies Advise all functions of daily workload requirements Manage all haulage providers Analyse weekly customer requirements and identify distribution synergies Analyse operation and suggest improvements to improve distribution efficiencies and productivity Liaison with purchasing regarding incoming deliveries Duties and Responsibilities Work with Internal Operations, Sales office, Laboratories, planning and purchasing and third party haulage companies to generate a picking plan which can be achieved and meet the companies expected performance Liaison with haulier representatives and Internal operations on vehicle loading sequences and timings (including export orders) Working with other members of the Warehouse Team to ensure achievement of company OTIF performance Provide daily report on shortages and order failures or possible order failures to all parties identified Provide a regular status review to the Warehouse manager of achievement of the daily/weekly picking plan Attend daily operational meetings to ensure customer requirements are met within agreed parameters Regular reviews of working arrangements to ensure all efficiencies have been exploited, suggesting ideas to improve working arrangements and productivity Actively pursuing reasons behind additional costs to the operation and suggesting ideas for cost reduction Create Goods in and out diaries by Liaising with planning and sales departments. Undertaking any other duties that are deemed within the job holders capabilities. Requirements Educated to GCSE grade-3 or above, or equivalent, in English & Maths It would also be an advantage to be educated to NVQ level-3, or equivalent, in Transport & Logistics 3 years experience in a similar role Knowledge and experience in using an integrated ERP system such as SAP 2 years experience in a transport planning environment would be an advantage
