Position Overview
The Senior Paralegal, Real Estate provides paralegal services to Global Legal Services (“GLS”) attorneys and business clients with an emphasis on corporate, real estate and transactional matters, and is responsible for meeting deadlines and monitoring time-sensitive filings and matters.
Responsibilities
* Collaborates with attorneys, paralegals, closing coordinators and business clients to perform routine assignments and projects, as directed and acts as liaison with Information Technology to resolve and close technical issues.
* Assists, as assigned, in preparing, updating and maintaining corporate records, real estate forms and other essential documents while ensuring proper recording and filing of various original legal documents.
* Assists, as assigned, in timely drafting commercial mortgage loan documents and reviewing leases and borrower’s organizational documents.
* Assists in preparing and maintaining various corporate governance documents and resources for RGA real estate entities, both electronic and paper-based, for RGA entities, on a timely basis.
* Draft and file UCC statements with the proper agencies upon closing of real estate loan transactions and file UCC terminations/continuations as relevant. Issue monthly reports with respect to UCC filings which are about to expire. Draft and file mortgage/deed of trust releases with the proper agencies upon completion of real estate loan payments.
* Corresponds directly with business clients, as needed, to resolve inconsistencies or redundancies in workflow and procedures, taking proactive steps and corrective action when necessary or appropriate.
* Work with internal and outside counsel to prepare and deliver Subordination, Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreements and other documents required by Mortgage Loan Servicing and Asset Management, as requested.
* Assists, as needed, in the due diligence process in connection with real estate closings.
* Research and analyze legal issues and questions using sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles and regulations.
* Assists with and provides documents for Know Your Customer requests.
* Serves as Missouri Notary Public.
Requirements
Education and Experience
* Bachelors Degree from accredited university or college or equivalent work experience
* Approximately 8+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal function
* State-of-the-art level of paralegal knowledge including processes, client needs, key business issues and drivers and application of best practices
* Demonstrated ability to support legal and business needs and analyze complex legal issues and develop solutions

The general pay range for this position is $87,500-$105,000 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles, and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
