Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and motivated Welder/Fabricator for our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MIG welding and be proficient in various fabrication techniques, with the ability to read technical drawings, measure, cut, and assemble metal components. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your expertise in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform MIG welding on a variety of metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
* Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications.
* Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fit and finish.
* Operate welding machinery and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
* Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure all welds meet industry standards.
* Repair or modify existing metal structures and components as needed.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
* Provide solutions to welding and fabrication challenges that arise during the production process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in MIG welding (essential).
* Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
* Experience with other welding methods (TIG, MMA) is an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
* Valid driving licence (preferred but not essential).
Preferred Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar welding/fabrication role.
* Familiarity with welding safety standards and best practices.
* Experience in working with various types of metals and alloys.
