Backend Developer
AWTG is looking for a very talented and experienced backend developer who specializes in both server and mobile software engineering.
Responsibilities:
1. Creating and maintaining WordPress plugins to extend site functionality.
2. Customizing and building WordPress themes to match design and functionality specifications.
3. Developing custom WordPress post types, taxonomies, and fields to enhance site functionality.
4. Managing the migration of WordPress sites between servers, environments, or domain changes.
5. Ensuring compatibility and managing updates to the WordPress core and plugins.
6. Defining the tasks and main goals of new projects.
7. Developing architectural solutions for the project and writing efficient, scalable code.
8. Managing the development team and ensuring project milestones are met.
9. Contributing to the achievement of overall team goals.
Requirements:
1. Strong knowledge of WordPress back-end and front-end architecture and their interaction.
2. In-depth experience with Laravel and Symfony framework for robust web application development.
3. Solid understanding and experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and deployment.
4. Confident knowledge of WordPress and PHP development.
5. Strong knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
6. Experience with PHPUnit / Codeception.
7. Proficiency in debugging tools.
8. Good knowledge of Git.
9. Understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodology.
Preferred Skills:
1. Familiarity with GCP tools and services such as Cloud Functions, App Engine, and Cloud Storage.
2. Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
3. Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools.
4. Ability to optimize application performance and scalability on cloud platforms.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per year, depending on your skillsets.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday
