Thepost-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood MedicalCentre. We are a forward thinking, training practice and provide lots of opportunities for the right will answer the telephone and liaise with patients and other clinicians, carryout secretarial duties as required to keep the smooth running of the General Practice. The hours are flexible and could be full time or part time dependingon the individual candidate. If you have worked in general practice or primarycare before that would be useful but it is not essential, however what isessential is having previously worked as a secretary in some kind of healthcaresetting
Main duties of the job
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Secretary and Administrator.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will dependon factors such as workload and staffing levels as directed by the OperationsManager:
a. To provide secretarial support to BeechwoodMedical Centre clinical team (Main role)
b. To use the telephone to call patientsand take inbound calls from patients, as required.
c. Book, change and cancel appointmentsfor patients in line with current arrangements.
d. Deal with things like post, tasks,scanning of letters and carting out duties as requested by the Practice OperationsManager, Business Manager or Partners
e. Look after minutes and agendas fromclinical and non-clinical meetings.
f. Prepare reports for third party organisations.
g. To take part and to be involved in teammeetings and to look at ways to improve the service.
h. To help with the management of QoF(quality and outcomes framework)

1. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
2. Experience of working with the general public
