We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Payroll Manager, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £21.65 - £28.79 per Hour
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the payroll function to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
* Act as the payroll lead for the implementation of new systems and procedures.
* Oversee the onboarding and pay setup for new employees in collaboration with HR recruitment teams.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for complex pay matters, including maternity, sickness, pensions, multiple employments, and statutory deductions.
* Ensure compliance with audit and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent in Maths.
* Professional payroll qualification.
Essential Experience:
* Proven experience managing or supervising a payroll team.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation including PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory deductions.
* Experience processing large volume payrolls.
* Experience interpreting Terms and Conditions of Employment.
