All Locations - Bristol, Exeter, Manchester, Plymouth, Southampton
We are seeking a Senior Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join our prestigious Energy, Projects, Infrastructure, and Construction (EPIC) team. If you are a real estate/commercial property lawyer with a passion for clean and renewable energy, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Our national practice is on an upward trajectory, focusing on high-impact projects of national importance. We are flexible with the location, allowing this role to be based at any of our office locations.
What you’ll do
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to take on a leadership role in the commercial property sector, with a focus on clean and renewable energy. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding the Future Energy sector. You will primarily work on renewable energy projects, collaborating closely with our Partners and Principal Directors, while also managing your own cases. Your main goal will be to deliver exceptional client service and work with colleagues to ensure our clients receive comprehensive support.
You will advise clients, including developers, owner-operators, funders, and investors, on solar, storage, EV infrastructure, and other renewable energy projects. Your work will focus on understanding and aligning with clients’ commercial objectives, ensuring tasks are performed at the appropriate level with client service as a priority. In addition to renewable energy projects, you will handle various commercial property matters, such as negotiating and drafting leases, managing property transactions, and advising on property development projects. You will ensure that all property-related aspects of energy projects are seamlessly integrated and managed. You will build and maintain strong relationships, providing practical and commercially relevant advice from the outset, representing high-profile clients on significant national transactions.
What we’re looking for
You should have significant experience in commercial property, ideally from a large regional or national practice, with a focus on leading energy and infrastructure projects. This includes expertise in options, leases, and renewable energy development. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, capable of inspiring others, and committed to sharing knowledge and building capacity within the team.
In your current role, you should enjoy engaging with clients and developing relationships as a trusted business adviser. You will understand the commercial context and nuances that influence the sector. In return, we will support your professional growth, providing the resources and encouragement needed to enhance your skills and practice. We will work with you to set realistic and achievable goals to help you reach your career aspirations.
Our offer to you
In return for your efforts, you can expect considerable scope for personal, as well as professional, development. We encourage people to engage with our popular and well supported coaching and mentoring programmes, which connect you to people right across the firm and at every level. We create space for mental and physical wellbeing with our weekly Lifestyle Hour, along with 28 days’ annual leave (plus a day in your birthday month), private medical insurance (eligibility applies) and a sabbatical you can take every 5 years. You can also buy holiday, managing your benefits flexibly using our sophisticated portal to configure your total reward offer according to what you value most.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment screening process which includes a financial integrity check and a DBS check.
