An opportunity has arisen for an Application Engineer to join PCS powered by Rubix. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the current sales team within a technical application engineer role. The geographical area required is Scotland West & Central and additionally Northeast England. Knowledge of the Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Automotive industries and their relevant components and materials is vital. A good knowledge of cutting tools and programming strategies is also required; however, training will be provided on products supplied to PCS by various suppliers. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an engineering environment and has experience of working on their own initiative. CNC programming knowledge is also preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support sales team to give technical assistance within End User Companies
2. Report to sales team & sales manager on progress of technical projects
3. Provide customers with technical reports and cost-saving opportunities
4. Work on own initiative to generate new opportunities
5. Be part of a team that can respond to the requirements of customers
6. Provide product training to customers
7. The role will also require short periods of working away from base with overnight stays away from home required
Main Tasks and Deliverables
1. Work with the external sales team and local management on the opportunities within the customer base in your geographical area or territory
2. Develop good working relationships with relevant stakeholders in both new and existing customers
3. Work with existing customers and newly developed customers to sell cutting & machining products and solutions
4. Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities, leveraging the competencies across the business unit to meet and exceed customer requirements
5. Work alongside the Rubix application engineers, other Rubix Cutting & Machining businesses, and manufacturers to provide on and off-site technical support
6. Be accountable for your territory, retain existing customers, negotiate contractual agreements, and drive profitable sales growth from both new and existing customers
7. Provide customers with tangible and measured cost savings – reducing machining times, increasing tool life, improving productivity, and optimizing efficiency
8. Recommend appropriate solutions for the customer requirement, e.g., vending & managed inventory solutions
9. Work towards established KPIs and sales targets as set by the business and your Line Manager

Skills and Experience
1. Ideal person would be already working in this industry sector, but candidates who currently are in a machining or production environment with a desire to move into an application role may be considered
2. Technically excellent with an extensive knowledge of metal cutting and machining processes
3. Resourceful and problem-solving skills
4. Knowledge of CADCAM and its features would be beneficial
