Role: Management Accountant Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA Job Type: Full time Permanent Salary: Up to £38,000 (Dependant on Experience) Company: EG On The Move About the role: As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate financial information to support business decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will focus on producing monthly management accounts, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role is vital to maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. Key responsibilities: Management Accounts Preparation: Assist in the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are reviewed and discrepancies resolved Variance Analysis: Investigate variances between actuals and budgets, providing explanations and recommendations where necessary Support Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for senior management, offering insights into financial performance Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in Finance and other departments to align financial data with business activities Ad Hoc Tasks: Provide support for ad hoc projects, queries, and reporting requests as directed by the Senior Management Accountant and Senior Finance Manager This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time Essential: Experience in a similar accounting role, with exposure to management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations Proficiency in financial systems and strong Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams Organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Good To Have: Part-qualified or working towards an accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) Experience in a multi-site or retail environment Knowledge of process improvement and financial systems optimisation Whats in it for you?
