Job Description Field Service Engineer The Role: Due to expansion a position has become available for a Field Service Engineer to join a busy company based in Peterborough. Supporting clients across the UK, you will carry out repair and maintenance work on all their products in a niche and specialised industry. If you are looking for a new career as a field service engineer have gone through an Electrical or Engineering maintenance apprenticeship or have related qualifications, this role would be a great fit for you. This will be an exciting and varied permanent role as part of a growing company. Responsibilities: Maintenance and repair of range of compact road sweepers, truck mount sweepers, spreaders, airport support equipment and mowing equipment in an efficient and high quality manner. Provide excellent customer service as efficiently as possible. Complete vehicle warranty work as required. Ensure all administration is completed accurately and submitted on time; to include job sheets (printed and signed) additional work forms and parts requests and all warranty documentation. Ensure efficient management and coordination of work issued by the Service Desk Promote Aebi Schmidt products, parts and services to established and new customers. Carry out courtesy visits to customers when required. To report into the Service Desk throughout the day. Ensure the Service desk is aware of your movements in order to maximise efficiency. Timely and accurate ordering of parts via the service desk. Be part of an out of hours call out rota. To maintain exemplary customer support offer flexibility on working hours Be flexible regarding location of work – may require nights away from home. Skills & Qualifications Candidates would ideally be from within or have experience of the industry or be from an allied discipline such as Heavy Plant Engineering, LGV engineering, Agricultural Engineering; Materials Handling equipment Engineering or the automotive industry. An ability to demonstrate a thorough practical and theoretical understanding of the repair and maintenance of IC engines, hydraulic systems and auto-electrical systems. Experience of carrying out repairs to a technical level on high-value capital products. Need to be flexible and adaptable. Willingness to stop away from home when required. Must be willing to travel overseas if required Must be able to demonstrate a positive customer focused attitude. Must be able to work unsupervised. Clean driving licence. HGV would be an advantage. Good written and verbal communication skills.
