Consider the role of a Health & Wellbeing Coach at Reed Wellbeing Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing, and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts and other specialists our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals’ needs. We deliver our services in the heart of communities, working with local public, private and voluntary partners. We currently provide a range of adult health and wellbeing services in over 20 local authorities. Services include diabetes prevention, weight management, physical activity (including GP referral), smoking cessation, intensive personal support, healthy eating and drinking, health checks and other healthy lifestyle promotion, outreach, support and training services – either directly or through trusted partners. Internal applications for this role close on 31/01/2025 What the job is about: The main purpose of the Health & Wellbeing Coach is to deliver the group-based health & wellbeing services. Please note: All applicants must have access to their own vehicle. You will be based from home with frequent travel across the Lancashire area to deliver sessions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Deliver the ‘Reed Wellbeing’ programmes and other elements of service in a manner that engages and interests all participants. Tailor delivery to meet the Participant’s needs and learning styles. Creating and maintaining a constructive and confidential learning environment Capturing key metrics at different points in the participants’ journey i.e. monitoring and recording participants’ progress on weight management. Liaise with professionals including GPs and primary care staff to promote and generate referrals to the service. What’s in it for you? Required skills and experience: REPs Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification or equivalent; or Level 3 qualification in health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent); or Level 3 qualification in nutrition; or Level 3 Training qualification (e.g. PTTLs / Award in Education & Training); or Degree of equivalent in a relevant subject Experience of delivery group based health or physical activity or advice & guidance interventions. Driver licence and access to a car is essential Desirable Attributes: An understanding of and interest in health-related physical activity, healthy eating and health-related behaviour change. Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work as required. Willingness and flexibility to travel around the local area.
