We have an exciting new opportunity based in the West Midlands for a Junior Buyer to join a busy Retail team!
You will work alongside the Buying team to provide leading edge, commercial, sustainable, and profitable product offerings.
Main responsibilities:
• Contributing to the overall division strategy by participating in product, brand and sales reviews
• Execute new and innovative plans to drive sales
• Demonstrate commercial awareness through sourcing new products, brands and suppliers to ensure leading in industry developments and trends
• Creating good, better and best range construction within profitable ranges
• Making informed decisions whether being trend, market data or member feedback etc. Sharing insights within internal product teams
• Providing high standards of customer service
• Maintain communication with suppliers to address any issues or queries, ensuring smooth operations and effective resolution of concerns.
• Place purchase orders, monitor stock levels to meet business requirements, and proactively identify and flag potential supply risks.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as setting up new product lines, managing stock, answering office calls, and providing general support to the team.
What we need from you:
• Experience within retail / FMCG
• Exceptional eye for detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Creative thinker - ability to think outside of the box
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience dealing with suppliers and building relationships
