Job summary Senior Electrical Engineering Manager [TBA] Hospital, role covers all Trust sites Band 8A (salary range plus any other allowances) 37.5 - Normal weekday hours N/A (fixed term contract end date and reason) Head of Estates Engineering Director of Estates Main duties of the job To manage the provision and maintenance of NHS Estates buildings, electrical plant equipment and services to ensure a safe and suitable environment for the care of patients, visitors and staff. Provide technical and specialist advice to managers and staff in electrical systems and disciplines. To specify and manage all electrical systems contracts across multiple sites. Travel between Trust sites as required. To provide evidence based efficient, cost effective and robust electrical engineering contracts to ensure full compliance with statutory instruments, NHSE guidance and industry best practice. To ensure all Hospital electrical engineering systems are maintained in a safe condition and are fit for purpose. Person Specification 2.EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential Must have a good standard of general education plus additional knowledge attained via a recognised and relevant diploma level (at HNC/HND level) in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering/Construction related discipline or approved equivalent training Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent plus specialist knowledge acquired through relevant post-graduate courses and experience to masters equivalent level Completion of a structured training program in engineering discipline for a minimum period of five years Full Current Driving Licence Desirable Degree in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering/Construction related discipline or equivalent experience 3.EXPERIENCE Essential Experience of managing engineering building services, operational engineering maintenance and repair services Experience and knowledge of operational budget management managing Experience of contractors Extensive knowledge and experience of working with engineering systems within complex organisations and environments Experience of working within and developing a 'safe system of work' and dealing with health and safety issues Line management experience.
