The role
As a Head of Finance, you’ll provide financial leadership to the Submarine South refit programme. You’ll interface with the wider finance organisation across business units to ensure the refit programme is financially reported and measured in accordance with external contractual commitments and internal business requirements.
Day-to-day, you’ll understand the Future Maritime Support Program (FMSP) contracting mechanisms to deliver each refit and the customer/contract reporting requirements.
1. Coordinate with the finance and broader teams on improvement projects to ensure that the Submarine refit programme operates in a focused and cost-effective manner, delivering maximum value to the group.
2. Engage with the Sector Finance teams to ensure that FMSP budgeting, forecasting, and cost control are aligned to contractual commitments, accurate, timely, and effective.
3. Work with the Sector Finance teams to ensure the provision of FMSP financial data to support AAR/CAAS requirements for the programme.
4. Identify savings opportunities across the functions and work with the operations teams to define and scope delivery requirements.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Head of Finance
1. Substantial experience in a multisite, project environment.
2. Extensive experience in financial management at a senior finance level in a project engineering environment.
3. Demonstrates capability and experience of leading change, influencing across a matrix organisation.
4. Implementing systems and processes in support of the business strategy.
5. Experience of working in a commercial environment.
Qualifications for the Head of Finance
1. Fully qualified with a professional finance qualification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
