Morson Technical Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. Field Service Engineers operate an ‘on-call’ system and are available to work at a Customer Site for the duration of the on-call period. This is a permanent position home-based but on a 4-week rotation on-call rota covering the Southern region.
There are two different on-call duty days with the 4-week rota, these are as follows:
1. Long Call (LC): 24 hours, from 7am-7am
2. Short Call (SC): 5 hours 7am – 12 noon
(R) represents a Rest Day (these are paid rest days)
Package Details:
The package includes:
1. Starting Salary of £35,190 per annum, rising to £36,742.50 per annum (on completion of full training and probation) + paid overtime is available (Overtime paid on all hours worked over 37 per week)

The Role:
1. Perform repairs, component replacements, and troubleshoot malfunctions to restore product functionality.
2. Comfortable undertaking hardware installation including electrical connectivity - copper & fibre.
3. Provide excellent customer support, offering technical assistance and resolving infrastructure power system faults in a timely and professional manner in line with defined SLAs.
4. Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
6. Work in an outdoor environment in all weathers, following safe working processes and procedures.
7. Work in an on-call shift pattern in rotation with the team within your region.
You will:
1. Have proven experience in a Field Service environment.
2. Have the ability to read & follow detailed technical documentation encompassing ICT/ Electrical/ Mechanical systems to assist in isolating and rectifying faults to root cause component/assembly.
3. Have a strong electronic repair troubleshooting and problem-solving methodology.
4. Possess good knowledge of electrical and infrastructure systems.
5. Have the ability to work independently and travel to customer sites.
6. Have a thorough understanding of all H&S aspects & procedures – RAMS etc.
7. Exhibit exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
8. Be proficient in using instrumentation equipment and application software related to field activities, including Power Ups, UPSs, Cisco, Fibre knowledge, Imagery Systems/Cameras. Knowledge of Traffic Management Systems is an advantage but not essential.
9. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
10. Hold a valid driver’s licence.
11. Be able to work at height and pass medical.
12. This role will require Security Clearance due to the nature of the end client.
