Our project has been operating discretely since 2017 since then we have been working towards our goal of changing the world of logistics and mobility via future technology Aerospace vehicle solutions.
We are currently searching for a composite analysis engineer to join our team. You will be involved in the material selection for primary and secondary aircraft structures in this role. This job would suit a candidate with advanced experience in performing hand calculations (using classical laminate theory) and FEA for assessing aircraft composite structures (monolithic and sandwich). This would be complemented by an advanced understanding of material properties, manufacturing techniques, composite design principles, joining methods, material qualification and regulatory requirements as applicable to aircraft structures. You will have the rare opportunity to engage in the full life cycle of vehicle development—from conceptualisation and prototyping right through to certification—you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of aerospace technology. Our project is incredibly unique and cutting-edge, and we need the best of the best to make it happen.
If you are motivated by impact and making a difference, whilst working with some of the best minds in the industry, this may be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Composite material selection for primary and secondary aircraft structures.
* Detailed structural analysis of composites using both hand calculations and FEA.
* Composite structure optimisation using simulations to achieve best strength to weight ratios whilst still maintaining structural integrity of the aircraft.
* Liaising and guiding internal teams (structures, production, procurement) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors) on composite testing, material qualifications, manufacturing processes, methods of joining etc.
* Creating composite analysis tools to speed up design iterations.
* Focal point for all composite related queries.
* Knowledge of CS requirements.
* Good understanding of overall aircraft architecture, structural lay-out and load paths.
Qualifications:
* Masters degree in relevant area (Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Advanced Composites or other relevant field) with a minimum 5 year’s experience in relevant field. Alternatively, relevant PHD with at least couple of years of relevant industry experience.
* FEA software experience (Any: Altair Optistruct / Radioss, Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys)
* Good knowledge of structure-related Aerospace regulations, standards and methodologies for stress analysis.
* In-depth understanding of composite manufacturing, processing, bonding, design principles and aerospace material qualification.
* Analysis tools development and validation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills (technical report writing, giving presentations in design reviews, engaging with suppliers and other stakeholders).
* Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team.
What will set you apart:
* Fatigue and Damage Tolerance experience – not mandatory
* Machine learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI) - not mandatory.
* Programming, automation, scripting (Python, Matlab or similar) – not mandatory
