A highly regarded, privately owned construction consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team of approximately 40 professionals, operating across their Northampton, Birmingham, and Bristol offices. They are offering a competitive salary of up to £80,000 (depending on experience), an enhanced car allowance for hybrid or electric vehicles, and generous holiday benefits, including a Christmas shutdown.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage a variety of projects ranging in value from £1 million to £35 million. Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
1. Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets to ensure alignment with forecasts.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including variations and tenders.
3. Conduct valuations, process payments, and handle final accounts.
4. Produce cost reports, forecast expenditures, and manage cost-related risks.
5. Oversee tender processes, evaluate bids, and recommend contractors.
6. Provide financial advice and updates to clients.
7. Ensure adherence to building regulations and contract law.
8. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers.
9. Assist in resolving cost and contract-related disputes.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor
2. Client-side/PQS experience preferred but not essential
3. Experience within the industrial, education and/or multi-room sectors desirable but not essential
4. Good tenure
5. Full driver's license
6. Willingness to work in the Northampton/Bristol/Birmingham office twice a week
7. Open to Associate-level candidates
