Veterinary Surgeon. From £38k - £70k Bessacarr, Doncaster.
It is no secret that being a vet is hard work. You're a vet, you know.
You love being a vet; it's all you ever wanted to be, but you can't care for patients every hour of every day, can you?
At this independent practice, they do not believe in working their vets 'into the ground.' That's why they have scheduled breaks, 20-minute consults as standard, and every vet leaves on time. They are keen for you to build relationships and give the best possible care you can to each patient.
That's the beauty of being independent; they are not in the crosshairs of corporate life. There are no clinical targets for vets, and no one telling you what to do from afar; the job is tough enough without adding additional stress.
The phrase work-life balance is bandied about a lot nowadays, but very few practices can actually achieve this; however, this one can. Hours are negotiable; you choose—part-time, full-time, it's up to you. No OOH's and 1 in 4 weekends only.
They will aim to fit the role around you, whether you are a new grad or have ten years of experience. But an emphatic team player is more important to them than experience. New grads please apply.
With an expanding practice and a strong loyal client base that's growing weekly, you will be rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in right from the start.
This modern practice, air-conditioned throughout, is currently spread over three sites. You will be working as part of an experienced team of vets and nurses with an interesting caseload and shared goals.
They have an established client base with a good level of workup possible in many cases. Individual interests are encouraged and supported.
One of their vets has recently completed a medicine certificate, and another is working towards a surgical certificate. You want to develop too, use the skills you have, and develop the ones you are less experienced in; you want to progress, and with a comprehensive CPD allowance, they will help you here.
This practice has a real 'family feel' about it, where everyone pulls together when there's work and relaxes when it's time. Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.
