Job summary Manage Specialist Echo Services and Non-Invasive Investigations, acting as Lead Physiologist reporting to Department Manager: - Will be responsible for an area within the department including the day-to-day management, long term planning, development and the training within that area. - Will demonstrate effective clinical leadership skills and expertise in the performance of the range of investigations carried out by the cardio-respiratory department. - Will employ high standards of skills and knowledge in diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting and treatments in order to achieve best quality patient care. - Will line and performance manage a team of staff, monitor sickness absence and perform individual reviews. Main duties of the job Responsible for the efficient provision of both in and outpatient services within area of responsibility reporting to Department Manager. Act as lead specialist for the Echocardiography and Non-Invasive Investigations. Manage waiting lists for in and outpatients, prioritising work accordingly and reporting to Department Manager & Deputy Manager. Review service provision and implement service redesign when appropriate. As lead Physiologist in Echo, manage the day-to-day service, maintaining quality control, and advise Physiologists within the Trust on best practice and new technologies. Develop, deliver and initiate training programmes for junior cardiac physiologists and medical staff.
