Service Improvement and Operations Manager - Community Dental Services
The post holder will play a key role in leading and delivering the Health Board's Community Dental Service improvement work and management of service delivery.
Provide leadership in service improvement and change management. Ensure delivery of care within defined care pathways. Work strategically across Dental Services Directorate and provide expert advice. Lead on performance and waiting list management within the service and report accordingly.
Main duties of the job
Providing leadership in developing and implementing service improvement in relation to the CDS key strategic improvement programmes. Providing a source of specialist expertise and advice on service improvement and change management skills across the CDS and Health Board Dental Services. Working with other health and social care providers and with patients and families as part of the clinical team to make sustainable change and improvement. Assisting multidisciplinary clinical dental teams in developing analytical and measurement skills to support service improvement. Providing professional leadership, management, and advice within the CDS and Directorate and taking professional responsibility for the designated clinical dental areas and services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Educated to MSc degree level or equivalent.
* Coaching qualification.
Experience
* Expert knowledge and understanding of change management and service improvement methods.
* Excellent knowledge of coaching, influencing, and engaging techniques.
* Significant experience in an operational/patient care management post within the NHS.
* Whole system change management experience / influencing policy development.
* Ability to lead successful change.
* Analyzing performance and highly complex data and information and using this to deliver service targets and performance improvements.
* Working across organizational boundaries / multi-agency professional working.
* Being an expert in and acting as lead for service improvement within and across organizations.
* Presenting highly complex information to large internal and external groups in an understandable way.
* Making decisions on a range of complex/highly complex project issues where there may be more than one course of action.
* Effective management of budget management, operational/business planning, waiting list management, and contract monitoring.
* Awareness and understanding of national policy concerning patient care and developments within the NHS.
* Experience of involving service users / carers in evaluation / planning of services.
* Extensive experience of working in an NHS dental operational environment especially a Community Dental Service.
* Evidence of successful operational leadership and effective involvement in service change management.
* Experience and involvement in IQT.
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
