Description Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a major infrastructure project encompassing the design, construction and commissioning of two European Pressure Reactors (EPR’s) in the South-West of England. The Project is of significant importance to the UK’s future energy requirements, being the first to be built in the UK for over 25 years and is designed to operate for 60 years. When in operation it will deliver circa 3,260MW of secure low carbon energy to the UK energy network, which is enough energy to power approximately 6 million UK homes. The Project also represents a significant investment in the UK nuclear industry and the related technical supply chains. Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of Nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The HPC Commissioning Team is expanding in preparation for the commissioning of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the first nuclear power station to be built in a generation.
