We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Electrical or Building Services Engineer to join our Housing Technical Services team in Place Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in ensuring electrical systems across our housing portfolio meet statutory compliance, safety standards, and best practices. You will oversee electrical compliance programs like Electrical, Door entry system, Fire detection systems etc, work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, and provide expert technical guidance on asset management, planned maintenance, and refurbishment projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering safe, reliable, and energy-efficient electrical systems that align with regulatory requirements. If you have experience in electrical compliance, building services, and project management in a housing environment, we’d love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage electrical compliance programs across the Housing Directorate. Ensure electrical installations and services adhere to statutory requirements and asset management principles. Oversee planned and reactive electrical maintenance across housing stock. Ensure compliance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018A2:2022) and other relevant legislation. Provide technical expertise including report writing on electrical design, safety, and energy efficiency improvements. Collaborate with internal teams, residents, and external partners to drive service improvements. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in electrical engineering, building services, or compliance within a housing or construction environment. Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, Electrical Safety Standards, and Building Safety legislation. Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring quality and compliance. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively. A degree (or HNC/HND) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
