Eden Scott is seeking an experienced Management Accountant for an interim position with a large and busy finance team based in Fife. During this 6-month contract you will contribute to key financial reporting processes and work collaboratively across teams to deliver accurate management accounts. The company offers hybrid working (3 days in the office) and there is a very good chance of remaining permanently with the organisation if this is of interest to you. The Role As the Interim Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts by leveraging financial data from various sources, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, and the general ledger. While this role does not include staff management, it will require strong relationships with other teams to gather, analyse, and validate financial information. You will play an active role managing their cash requirements and liaising with the banks daily to ensure that the correct money is in place for business needs. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts with a high degree of accuracy. Providing initial variance analysis, you will play a role in drawing meaning from information. Reconcile and manage the sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger. Ensure payroll data is processed accurately and incorporated into financial reporting. Collaborate with internal teams to gather and verify data for management accounts. Support financial forecasting and budgeting activities as needed. Contribute to ad hoc projects and provide analysis to support business decision-making. Liaise with banking provider to ensure that the cash needs of the business are managed. Your Skills and Experience Demonstrable experience in a similar Management Accountant role, you can either be professionally qualified or qualified by experience. Strong knowledge of financial processes, including ledger management and payroll. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software (experience with Tropos would be a distinct advantage). A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
