I would really encourage anyone to come and work here, I’m going to miss it so much We're looking for: Our lovely and hugely popular vet is moving back to Cornwall for family reasons after eight years at the practice and we’re looking for someone to fill their shoes Are you the motivated individual, who will complement the high standard of care we provide, whilst ensuring a good level of communication, empathy and support to our lovely clients? We would consider full or part time positions for a vet keen to develop or pass on their clinical skills in a supportive and friendly independent practice. The Role: The position will involve periods of both consulting and operating, although the rota can be tailored to an individual's strengths. The practice provides its own out of hours service, the rota currently involves covering 1:6 weekends and Saturday mornings and usually 1 weekday night. A typical week involves: · 1 or 2 shifts 8.45am to 5pm · 1 or 2 shifts 8.45am to 6pm · 1 half day pw 8.30am to 1pm (with additional Friday half day following a weekend on call) · 1 on call day 8.30am to 6.30pm (the nurse on duty takes the on-call phone) The Practice: The practice operates from a single site. There has been a practice here since 1897 but we now have lovely new purpose built and air-conditioned facilities providing us all with a great working environment. As you’d expect this includes two sterile operating theatres, an imaging suite with endoscopy, digital X-ray and ultrasound including dedicated cardiac probe used by our cardiologist. There is also a dental theatre with dental x-rays, a dedicated and fully stocked laboratory as well as separate cat, dog and isolation wards. We also have a large meeting space primarily used for in house training events and CPD.
