We are currently recruiting Nurse Assessors to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in delivering Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments. Your Role as a Nurse Assessor:
As a Functional Assessor, you will play a vital role in supporting the DWP’s decision-making process by carrying out thorough, impartial assessments of claimants applying for PIP. You will be using your clinical expertise to assess and analyse medical evidence and provide comprehensive, evidence-based reports.
* Conduct assessments – both by telephone and face-to-face at your nearest assessment centre.
* Analyse and evaluate medical evidence to assist in the assessment process.
* Produce detailed reports (3,000 – 4,000 words) that justify your findings and recommendations to support DWP decision-making.
* Work closely with claimants to ensure they are fully informed during the assessment process.
What We’re Looking For:
* A minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist.
* Valid PIN and full registration with NMC or HCPC, with no conditions or restrictions.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, show empathy, and explore further when required.
* Strong time management skills with the ability to work to targets and maintain the quality of reports.
* A good level of computer literacy and comfortable with typing.
* A passion for providing high-quality, impartial assessments and making a positive impact on people’s lives.
