The Quality Assurance Supervisor will support the management and execution of the quality program and its components to ensure compliance to regulatory, GATX and customer requirements. This position will also support research and analysis of quality and maintenance related issues and implementation of quality improvements at the facility.
Responsibilities / Responsabilités
Key Activities
1. Technical Resource
o Function as a technical resource for GATX personnel throughout the facility.
o Participate on cross-functional teams to evaluate, define, and improve our processes to ensure alignment and achievement of GATX initiatives.
o Apply the GATX Quality program requirements to in-process and/or outbound repairs and support the development of others’ quality knowledge.
2. Training
o Perform Quality Training (qualifications, document updates, etc.).
o Maintain the Quality training database, training records and employee certifications.
o Act as Weld Facilitator for the facility, as needed.
3. Gauge Management
o Manage gauge calibration records.
o Perform calibrations, as needed.
o Provide oversight to ensure calibration requirements are known and adhered to.
4. Auditing
o Serve as liaison for external audits.
o Perform internal audits to confirm compliance with GATX, regulatory and customer requirements.
o Develop reports and supporting details presenting audit results.
o Work with applicable individuals to devise and implement actions to correct deficiencies and follow up on those actions to ensure effectiveness.
Qualifications / Qualification
Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):
* Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
* VT certification or the ability to gain this certification.
* Ongoing training combining both online and offsite resources.
* Knowledge and experience in applying structured problem-solving practices (e.g. 5 Whys).
* Advanced computer skills, including experience or the ability to be proficient with the following systems:
o MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
o LCA.
o MMS.
o Shop Portal.
o ECM.
o MIS.
o SEM.
o SharePoint.
o Railinc.
o ETQ.
o GAGEpack.
o Power BI.
o PeopleSoft.
o AAR circulars.

This position requires moderate physical activity. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel and crouch.
