Job Description
A skilled maintenance engineer with expertise in Motors/Drives, Gearbox/transmissions, and PLC's is sought for a day shift position.
We are working on behalf of our valued partner to find a maintenance shift engineer to join their close-knit team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing emergency breakdown response to production machinery and equipment.
* Carrying out regular planned maintenance according to schedules.
* Offering suggestions to improve engineering aspects on site.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation for planned or unplanned maintenance of equipment.
* Supporting the site management team in maximising machine utilisation.
* Actioning mechanical/electrical repairs and maintenance to all services, machinery, and equipment.
* Monitoring performance of production equipment, noting problem areas or recurring faults, and implementing improvements as necessary.
* Ensuring all items removed from stores are accounted for and relevant records are completed.
* Maintaining a safe system of work and conducting risk assessments throughout daily duties.
* Organising external service engineers and contractors, ensuring they adopt safe systems of work.
Key Results Areas/Outputs
* Adherence to Planned Maintenance Schedule: 90%
* 100% of Log sheets completed fully and accurately.
* Unplanned machine downtime reduced by 10% compared to the previous year.
Qualifications
* HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)
* Time served recognised apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance
* NVQ level 3 in maintenance operations or equivalent

The successful candidate can expect an annual salary of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
